The European School of Helsinki is looking for a part-time teacher of Irish language (Gaelic) for fixed term 18.08.2026-31.07.2027
We are looking for an Irish (Gaelic) teacher who will teach at the Primary and Secondary level according to the European Schools curriculum. The job entails a close collaboration with colleagues from different language sections (English, Finnish and French language sections) in a dynamic, international team as well as regular communication with guardians.
Qualifications of the teaching staff are stipulated in the Government Decree on European Schooling Helsinki 15/2008.
Clarification regarding the investigation of the criminal history of persons working with children and young people: The chosen applicant is obliged to present a criminal records extract in accordance with section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993), Act on the Investigation of the Criminal History of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).

Pedagogical degree in Irish language (Gaelic) teaching, diverse experience in Primary and Secondary education. Knowledge of multiculturalism, experience in international work communities, good cooperation skills and diverse language skills are considered an advantage, as the work requires cooperation with teachers from other language sections (English, Finnish and French language sections)

European School of Helsinki is a state school which started its operation in autumn 2008. There are three language sections in the school: English, French and Finnish. The two-year nursery cycle starts at the age of four, the five-year primary cycle at the age of six and the secondary cycle at the age of eleven.
