We are looking for a shop responsible for a permanent position at the National Museum of Finland. The job starts on 18 January or in January 2027 as agreed.

The position of shop responsible is located in the National Museum of Finland’s largest museum, the National Museum. As the shop responsible of the National Museum, you will take care of the day-to-day operations and background tasks of the two museum shops, support and guide the work of the shopkeepers, and communicate both internally and to our customers about the shops' selection and campaigns.
Key responsibilities of the position:
• As a shop responsible, you will carry out high-quality and smooth sales work in both of the Museum shops, as well as customer communications in the shops, and support the work of the shopkeepers. You will implement store displays guided by the National Museum's visual identity, update pricing and price lists, and monitor stock levels, sales, and reporting in the POS system, and take care of cash supply orders.
• You will participate in the development of the product range and implement the shops' campaigns together with the Service Sales unit and Marketing.
• On weekends and holidays, you will act in your turn as a supervisor for customer service personnel, conveying and guiding customer service operations in emergencies.
The supervisor of the shop responsible and shopkeepers, as well as the cashier and service assistants, will be the service officer of the information and museum shops team. In cooperation with the entire National Museum unit, we are responsible for providing customer encounters and reliable service for our guests that exceed expectations. The National Museum Unit will recruit shopkeepers, service assistants, service guides and attendants, whose applications will open at the end of 2026.
The National Museum, which has undergone the greatest change in its history, will open to the public in spring 2027. We offer a unique opportunity to be involved in building a new kind of customer experience at the National Museum-one of the largest and most international museums in Finland.

The best prerequisites for the position are a degree suitable for working in a shop. We value a vocational qualification in business in the field of marketing and sales, a visualist degree combined with a vocational qualification in business, a degree in the field of applied arts etc. in the field of crafts. We particularly value an educational background that combines visual and business expertise.
We require a few years of relevant work experience in customer service and sales work (in a specialty store or in a chain store). We require experience in store maintenance tasks (product management, reception, inventory, waste forecasting, campaigns, making displays), sales work and customer service, as well as good communication and information technology skills. Previous experience in leading a sales team is an advantage in the position.
We require that professional customer service be provided both orally and in writing in Finnish and English.
You are interested in working in the field of cultural heritage in a museum environment. You are motivated to learn about the contents and activities of a museum. You are able to work with different people and understand the importance of customer service as part of a successful customer experience. The position also requires the ability and desire to work in a large organization for a common goal.

- Remuneration information: The salary is determined in accordance with the state’s collective agreement. The position-specific salary is determined according to VR 104 (2072,45 €/month). In addition, a salary component based on personal experience and performance is paid in accordance with the Finnish Heritage Agency's salary system agreement.
