The European School of Helsinki is looking for a teacher of Latvian L1 language, for the period August 18, 2026 - July 31,2027.
The European School of Helsinki is looking for a teacher of Latvian L1 language who, within the framework of the European School programs, will teach Latvian to pupils from Nursery to Secondary school. The job entails a close collaboration with colleagues from different language sections in a dynamic, international team as well as regular communication with parents.
The applicant must provide an extract from the criminal record in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993), the Act on the Investigation of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
- A pedagogical degree for the Secondary school
- Experience in teaching and working in the field of education and more specifically with Latvian first language teaching
- Experience in teaching L1 Latvian in the Primary and Secondary School level

European School of Helsinki is a state school which started its operation in autumn 2008. There are three language sections in the school: English, French and Finnish. The two-year nursery cycle starts at the age of four, the five-year primary cycle at the age of six and the secondary cycle at the age of eleven. The school follows the syllabi of the European Schools.
