Apply as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Navigation at the National Land Survey's Geospatial Research Institute!
We are seeking talented postdoctoral researchers for the National Land Survey's Geospatial Research Institute in a three-year fixed-term position from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2028.
The task is to carry out independent research in the field of satellite navigation, focusing especially in GNSS systems and their security aspects, such as solutions for receiver resilience and robustness, the European Galileo satellite system, and its services (such as the Open Service Message Authentication (OSNMA)). Special emphasis will be on NLS’s GNSS-Finland service to study and develop GNSS situational awareness.
The position is located at the Department of Navigation and Positioning. The Post-Doctoral fellow will collaborate in the department’s research on resilient Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). Currently, the department has 15 scientists of which 3 are professors. The research in the department is topical and relevant both in the international navigation community and within the Finnish society.
This postdoctoral position is part of the Finnish state research institutes' postdoctoral program, funded by Finland’s long-term research and development plan. The program will recruit 85 new postdoctoral researchers across 12 Finnish government research institutes from 2025 to 2028. Its aim is to strengthen R&D competence in fields important to society and business. Postdoctoral researchers will conduct impactful, high-level research that combines science, industry, and government. The program also supports networking and mobility across sectors.
