The National Centre for Learning and Consulting Valteri supports the school attendance and the functional abilities of pupils needing special support, and the professional skills of those working with them.

Our activities are based on multiprofessional cooperation, extensive skills and knowledge, and innovative operating methods. Valteri's six units are responsible for consulting service operations.

A Valteri school operates in connection with each unit. About 550 professionals and experts in the social and health care field work at Valteri.

Our clients include individual pupils, professionals in the field, schools, municipalities, and cities. We operate under the authority of the Finnish National Agency for Education and our collaboration is close in matters of three-tiered support. At the heart of stakeholder collaboration are the students in need of support.

Our aim is to give as many pupils as possible the chance to study in a neighbourhood school in their home municipality.
