The National Legal Service Authority has started its operations on 1.1.2025. The authority combines legal aid, public guardianship, and financial and debt counseling services under one roof. The National Legal Service Authority is a nationwide state authority operating under the Ministry of Justice. Services are provided at 22 legal aid offices and 22 public guardianship offices in mainland Finland as well as at the legal aid and public guardianship office in Åland. The National Legal Service Authority does not have a main office, and its central administration is multi-locational. The central administration centrally manages the authority’s support and administrative services and develops its operations. Approximately 1,300 people work at The National Legal Service Authority.
