The National Audit Office of Finland (NAOF) ensures that state funds are used cost-effectively according to Parliament's decisions and in compliance with laws and regulations. Our activities also support transparent decision-making and democracy.

We audit the legality and appropriateness of the state's financial management and oversee political party and election campaign funding, the use of the Finnish Transparency Register, and the transparency and targeting of political advertising.

The NAOF is an independent Supreme Audit Institution. We operate in affiliation with Parliament, and our role and tasks are laid down in the Constitution of Finland.

The NAOF employs around 150 people, more than two thirds of whom work in audit and oversight roles.
