Ministry of Social Affairs and Health

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is one of the government ministries. Our objective is that all people in Finland should have equal opportunities for a healthy and safe life. We are in charge of the planning, guidance and implementation of social and health policy.

The Ministry employs about 450 people. The median age of staff is 47 years. The staff of the Minis-try has a high level of qualifications as required by their duties. The most common fields of educa-tion are law, social science and humanistic sciences. Those doing assistant work typically have a vo-cational qualification in business administration.
