We seek a postdoc with a PhD in forestry, statistics, or machine learning for the project “Digital Twin of Boreal Forest Structure with Remote Sensing and Forest Inventories”. We offer a possibility to do cutting-edge research in an international setting.
We seek to fill a postdoctoral position in project “Digital Twin of Boreal Forest Structure with Remote Sensing and Forest Inventories (DigiTForest)” funded by the Academy of Finland. The objective is to develop methods for mapping forest structure with special focus on biodiversity using remote sensing data, e.g., especially airborne laser scanning. The postdoctoral researcher will be supervised by Dr. Joel Kostensalo and collaborates closely with Luke’s remote sensing experts and project collaborators from Sweden, Norway, and Canada. The work includes the possibility for 2–4-week research visits to international collaborators.
