VATT Institute for Economic Research is looking for one or two research assistants to work on immigration related research projects.
The job will include
• cleaning and analyzing data
• planning and coding a survey
• coordinating the implementation of a survey with our collaborators
• preparing presentations
• working in an international research team
We provide opportunities to learn about doing research in practice, work with data and engage with policy relevant topics.
Job duration is 6-12 months starting February-March 2026 or by agreement, with possibility to work part time.
Successful applicants have at least some of the following:
1. understanding of econometric program evaluation methods
2. experience working with statistical software including Stata or R
3. experience working with or designing surveys
4. English language communication skills
5. ability to read legal and administrative documents in Finnish
6. interest in research as a potential career
Ideally, the successful candidate has a background in economics, data science, computer science, statistics, or in other related fields, and has at least a bachelor’s degree.
A successful candidate is proficient in written and spoken English and is able to read legal and administrative documents in Finnish.
