The postdoctoral researcher is responsible for analysing and exploiting satellite remote sensing datasets — including CO₂ and Solar-Induced Fluorescence (SIF) observations — together with AI methods for research on the carbon cycle, greenhouse gas emissions, and carbon sinks.

    Your tasks will include:
    • Processing and analysis of satellite remote sensing datasets (e.g. CO₂, SIF, other atmospheric composition products)
    • Method development for source-sink estimation and carbon cycle applications
    • Integration of satellite and geospatial datasets
    • Application of statistical and machine learning methods
    • Producing scientific results for national and international research and development projects

Also candidates who will defend their PhD soon, can be considered (PhD thesis in pre-examination). In addition, we expect:

    • Expertise in at least one of the following areas is expected: carbon cycle research, atmospheric composition, land surface processes, greenhouse gas emission estimation
    • Experience with satellite or other geospatial data analysis (an in-depth expertise in satellite data analysis is considered an advantage)
    • Strong skills in scientific programming and data analysis (e.g. Python or similar)
    • Experience in handling large datasets
    • Ability to apply statistical and AI methods (an in-depth methodological expertise is considered an advantage)
