  • Apply as a Postdoctoral Researcher in drone technologies at the National Land Survey's Geospatial Research Institute!

We are seeking talented postdoctoral researchers for the National Land Survey's Geospatial Research Institute (FGI) in a three-year fixed-term position from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2028.

Finnish Geospatial Research Institute has a cutting-edge drone research infrastructure that includes dedicated test areas, a versatile drone fleet, drone-in-a-box systems, a variety of sensors, and robotic drones (learn more at www.dronefinland.fi ). Utilizing this advanced setup, we conduct pioneering research across a range of application fields, such as agriculture and forestry, built environment, and emergency response. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the development of our drone research infrastructure and groundbreaking research, with a particular focus on advancing autonomous drone technologies, such as drone-in-a-box systems, and beyond visual line of sight operations and applications.

This postdoctoral position is part of the Finnish state research institutes' postdoctoral program, funded by Finland’s long-term research and development plan. The program will recruit 85 new postdoctoral researchers across 12 Finnish government research institutes from 2025 to 2028. Its aim is to strengthen R&D competence in fields important to society and business. Postdoctoral researchers will conduct impactful, high-level research that combines science, industry, and government. The program also supports networking and mobility across sectors.
