Riia, who works as a service coordinator at Palkeet HRM services, has gained experience from several different assignments and service areas during her Palkeet career.
Originally, Riia started in Palkeet Financial Services to complete an internship that was part of her Bachelor of Business Administration studies, but ultimately she ended up in HR Services.
“After my internship, I was a full-time student for a few months, before Palkeet called me to enquire about whether I would like to join Financial Services as an hourly worker,” says Riia. “And since then, I have been working for Palkeet in different work roles.” After being an hourly worker, Riia first held a temporary position where she also did some assignments for HR Services. Her first permanent position was as a salary service secretary, from where Riia moved into the role ofservice specialist before assuming her current role. “I started as a service coordinator in the same unit in spring 2022. An interesting part of this position is that I can view the same process as in my previous roles, but again from a slightly different perspective,” Riia states.
Development and working together are part of a service coordinator’s daily life
Riia’s current role is a great example of the experimental culture of Palkeet. “The best thing about Palkeet is that I have been able to develop my own role and joint activities, and, of course, I have also been able to develop myself while working,” says Riia. “I have always had new opportunities available within the same organisation, which has helped mw maintain motivation and interest.” Riia feels that Palkeet listens to its employees and gives them the chance to adapt their roles. The good team spirit at Palkeet also deserves praise: it helps everyday work go smoothly.
For Riia, completing large and even challenging projects is the most rewarding part of her work. “Bringing a project to production is definitely one of the best moments, as you can concretely see the significance of your work,” says Riia. “But all customer meetings and visits are also great experiences and nice encounters. After all, our customers are why we are here and we produce the services for them.”
Riia’s future dreams are also related to working in central government. She sees central government as a large and interesting employer that offers a wide range of opportunities. “At the moment, I’m really enjoying my job. It is challenging enough and I have great colleagues around me. Of course, its always possible that I could go through a staff rotation and spend some time in a different organisation to get some new perspective, since the state government gives us the opportunity to do so,” Riia summarises.
