The task of the Matriculation Examination Board Office is to manage and develop the implementation of the examination and the administration of the Matriculation Examination Board, which is appointed by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The Matriculation Examination Board Office is a separate unit of the Finnish National Agency for Education. Approximately 25 public servants work in the Office.
Around 70 000 candidates in around 400 upper secondary schools participate in the Matriculation Examination each year. The tests are organised digitally in Finnish and in Swedish.
