The Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority is an expert organization supervising radiation and nuclear safety in Finland. We employ over 300 people. We are experts in many different fields, but we all share the same goal – radiation safety.
We believe that the most important prerequisite for our success is competent, motivated and thriving staff. We therefore want to offer a good workplace where our employees can do meaningful work and develop not only their own expertise, but also the whole field of radiation and nuclear safety both in Finland and internationally.
We are committed to a good, fair and equal working community that values everyone's work.
The scope of our work covers natural radiation from radon to cosmic radiation and solar UV radiation. It also includes nuclear facilities, nuclear materials and nuclear waste as well as the use of radiation in areas such as health, industry and research. Our expertise further covers non-ionizing radiation from laser equipment and tanning beds to certain cosmetic applications and mobile phones.
In addition to professionals in radiation and nuclear safety, we employ dozens of professionals in other fields. Every year, we have a number of trainee positions open in different fields, and we also offer opportunities for writing a thesis. We provide non-military service placements, provided that the person has education or skills related to STUK's field of activity.
We work in newly constructed, comfortable office premises in Vantaa (Jokiniemenkuja 1). In addition to working in the office, we also offer the opportunity to work from home.
