There is only one Customs. We utilise a wide range of information and technology in facilitating trade in goods, and in making our society safe. Our work affects everyone. That makes our work meaningful, which is why it must also be responsible.
An enormous flow of goods crosses our borders. Goods are at the heart of what we do, be it about taxation, import, export, ensuring safety, compiling statistics, or controls. Two of our most important objectives are facilitating smooth flow of goods across borders, and ensuring the safety of our society and environment.
We identify goods and make sure that all legal items move forward fast. At the same time, we identify risks and intervene in cases of misuse. In our work, we utilise information and technology. Our personnel combines huge quantities of data and information systems for finding any persons who are most likely acting in breach of regulations. As for our law-abiding customers, they mainly come into contact with us when they need service and advice.
