The core tasks of the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency are the promotion and funding of the arts and culture, media education, and the promotion and archiving of audiovisual culture.

The agency has approximately 160 employees. The head office is in Helsinki, and the agency also has regional offices around the country.

Established in 2026, the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency continues the operations of the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike). It operates under the performance management of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
