The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is an expert and service agency for promoting the arts. Taike’s task is to promote the arts and culture on both the national and international levels. Taike together with its arts councils and boards awards grants to professional artists and subsidies to communities in the arts sector.
Taike has approximately 80 employees who work in a wide range of expert and planning positions related to discretionary government grants and joint services. In addition, Taike has arts promotion expert services, development programmes and projects that involve not only its administrative staff (civil servants) but also fixed-term regional artists, artist experts and art experts.
Taike has a head office in Helsinki and regional offices throughout Finland. Taike operates under the performance management of the Ministry of Education and Culture and continues the activities of the Arts Council of Finland, which was founded in 1968.
